In order to facilitate structured cabling, data center network equipment is not directly connected, but through the fiber optic wiring panel for interconnection and cross-connect. In fact, structured data center switches, servers, storage and other equipment through the main Wiring area (MDA), horizontal wiring area (HDA) and other wiring area and other devices to achieve connectivity, fiber optic wiring panel is the commonly used products of these wiring areas.
Fiber optic distribution panel in data center
With the popularity of 10G, 40G and 100G networks, LC fiber jumpers, and MTP fiber jumpers become common jumper types in the data center. Therefore, the fiber optic patch panel in the data center is often loaded with LC adapter panel, MTP to LC Wireframe and MTP Adapter Panel:
LC adapter panel - this panel provides LC interface, commonly used in the fiber optic wiring panel for connecting 10G network equipment MTP to LC junction box - this box structure used to achieve MTP interface and LC interface transfer, installed in Fiber optic wiring panel, used to connect 40G network equipment and 10G network equipment MTP adapter panel - this panel provides MTP interface, installed in the fiber optic wiring panel to support the MTP backbone fiber optic jumper connection.

The role of fiber optic distribution panels
As shown in the following figure, an LC adapter panel, an MTP to LC junction box, and an MTP adapter panel can be installed on a 1U fiber patch panel. When installing the LC adapter panel, an optical fiber distribution panel provides 36 LC interfaces in 1U space. When installing the MTP adapter panel, it provides more fiber links. When installing the MTP to LC junction box, it can easily implement MTP Trunk wiring and LC wiring between the transfers, the use of very convenient. In general, the use of fiber optic wiring panels in the rack or cabinet to provide a large number of fiber optic interfaces, which greatly saves the wiring space, but also conducive to the maintenance and management of the wiring system.
Application of fiber optic distribution panel in data center
In this example, the main wiring area (MDA) has two trunk cables connected to the four optical fiber wiring panels, the formation of two trunk optical fiber link. There are two fiber optic panels located in the main wiring area (MDA), used to achieve the main wiring area (MDA) within the connection between the equipment, the other connections through the fiber jumper to achieve, as shown below:
Conclusion
The fiber optic distribution panel is an indispensable part of a structured data center. We can achieve connection between network devices on a variety of rates by installing LC adapters such as LC adapter panels, MTP to LC distribution boxes, and MTP adapter panels on fiber-optic panels.
