What is MPO 12 Fiber Cable?

MPO 12 Fiber Cable is a widely recognized and globally accepted standard interface for both multimode and single-mode applications. It has been in existence for several decades and is commonly used as a trunk cable connector for both duplex and simplex configurations. The MPO-12 interface provides a reliable and efficient solution for various connectivity needs in the field of telecommunications and data transmission.

  • The most familiar MPO connector/trunking cabling interface.

  • Lower density for duplex applications compared to MPO-24 systems.

  • Better density for duplex applications compared to MPO-8 systems.

MPO 12 Fiber Cables make use of the initial and most cost-effective multifiber connector available. With the communication industry advancing towards superior media and data quality, there is a growing need for a greater number of fibers to cater to client requirements. MPO connectors facilitate the consolidation of numerous fiber strands into a compact connector, proving particularly valuable during the transition from 10G to 40G and 100G data transfer speeds.

We provide an assortment of MTP/MTP cables available in different types and lengths. MPO, which stands for “multi-fiber push on,” offers increased port density by allowing 12 fibers to be accommodated in a single cable. It’s worth noting that while MTP is a brand name for an MPO connector, these two acronyms are frequently used interchangeably.

What is MPO 24 Fiber Cable?

MPO 24 Fiber Cable offers a cost-effective solution for deploying both parallel and duplex fiber optic applications. With twenty-four fibers housed in a single connector, it provides greater density compared to using three MPO-8 connectors or two MPO-12 connectors. This consolidation of fibers reduces the complexity of the installation process and speeds up cleaning and inspection procedures associated with MPO systems. By utilizing the MPO-24 connector, organizations can achieve efficient and cost-effective fiber optic deployments with improved density and streamlined maintenance.

  • The most efficient connector/trunk combination providing lower per port deployment costs compared to MPO-8 and MPO-12 systems.

  • High degree of flexibility for all duplex and parallel optical applications.

  • Lowers the number of connectors required in a system along with the cleaning and inspection costs associated.

  • Enables smaller cable diameters and reduces pathway fill requirements.

  • The superior choice for density with more ports per panel that any other MPO option.

MPO 24 Fiber Trunk Cables are primarily employed to create robust backend trunk connections between fiber patch panels and various networking devices. These cables excel at handling high-performance data transmission. They are also used to establish 100G (CXP-100G-SR10) links between two CXP transceivers. Additionally, they facilitate multiple 10G links (10x10GBASE-SR) from different SFP+ transceivers to a single 100G transceiver, efficiently managing the traffic load. The versatility of 24 Fiber MPO Cables makes them a valuable solution in various networking scenarios requiring reliable and high-speed connections.

Support MPO/MTP to MPO/MTP, and to other connectors like SC, LC, etc. Straight through Type A, cross polarity connection Type B or pair flip polarity Type C are available. SMF-28® Ultra optical fiber. Multimode fiber OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4, and single mode fiber such as G652D, G655 and G657A. Allow easy migration from 10GbE to 40GbE or 100GbE.
