Copper SFP Transceiver is also called RJ45 SFP Transceiver. SEESUO supplies OEM service and Third-Party(Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell etc.) compatible fiber optic transceivers.

Copper SFP Transceivers

SEESUO’s copper SFP modules are a type of networking transceiver that allow for the transmission of data over copper cables. SEESUO’s transceivers convert electrical signals into optical signals and support Ethernet standards like 10/100/1000BASE-T, allowing for data transmission at different speeds. They are commonly used in Ethernet and other networking applications to provide copper connectivity between network devices. Our copper SFP transceivers typically comply with industry standards and specifications to ensure compatibility and reliable performance.

SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers are composed of a transmitter, receiver, copper interface, EEPROM, control and diagnostic circuitry, and housing.

The other common names for copper SFP transceivers are copper SFP transceivers, RJ45 SFP modules, ethernet SFP transceivers, copper gigabit SFP, copper small form-factor pluggable transceivers, copper Mini-GBIC modules, RJ45 mini-GBICs, copper SFP optical modules, and ethernet small form-factor pluggable transceivers.

SEESUOcopper SFP transceivers have the following functions:

  • Data Transmission: SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers enable the transmission of data over copper-based Ethernet cables, such as twisted-pair cables (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7). Our copper SFP transceivers convert electrical signals from network equipment into optical signals for transmission over copper cables.

  • Copper Interface: Our copper SFP transceivers have a copper interface, typically an RJ-45 connector, that allows direct connection to copper-based Ethernet ports on network devices, such as switches, routers, or servers.

  • Speed and Distance: Our copper SFP transceivers support different data rates, including Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) and Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps). The maximum transmission distance varies depending on the category of the copper cable used, typically up to 100 meters for Cat5e/Cat6 cables.

  • Hot-Pluggable: SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers are hot-pluggable, which means they can be inserted or removed from the SFP ports of networking devices while the equipment is powered on, without causing disruptions or downtime.

  • Auto-Negotiation: Our copper SFP transceivers support auto-negotiation, allowing them to automatically detect and negotiate the appropriate data rate and duplex mode (half-duplex or full-duplex) with the connected device.

SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers are rugged, versatile and precision measurement instruments. They comply with applicable industry standards such as MSA, TIA/EIA, ANSI, ISO/IEC, FCC, and IEEE standards.

Our copper SFP transceivers help our customers comply with relevant U.S. government regulations such as:

  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations

  • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) regulations

  • Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

  • National Electrical Code (NEC)

Our copper SFP transceivers help our clients in complying with relevant Canadian government regulations such as:

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations (EMCR)

  • Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance

  • Canadian Standards Association (CSA)

  • Radio Standards Specifications (RSS)

Our copper SFP transceivers have the following applications:

  • Performance Testing: Our copper SFP transceivers can be used to assess the performance of copper SFP transceivers. They can measure parameters such as data rate, signal quality, power consumption, and transmission distance to ensure that the transceivers meet the desired specifications.

  • Compatibility Testing: SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers help determine the compatibility of transceivers with different networking equipment, such as switches, routers, and media converters. They verify that the transceivers can establish proper communication and data transmission over copper cables.

  • Interoperability Testing: SEESUO’s copper SFP transceivers can be employed to test the interoperability of transceivers with different vendors' equipment. They ensure that the transceivers can seamlessly integrate and function with network devices from various manufacturers.

  • Compliance Testing: Our copper SFP transceivers are used to verify compliance with industry standards and regulations. They assess whether the transceivers meet the requirements specified by standards organizations such as IEEE, MSA, and FCC.

  • Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Our copper SFP transceivers help in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to copper SFP transceivers. They can identify problems such as signal loss, noise interference, or faulty components, allowing technicians to pinpoint and resolve the issues efficiently.

FAQ:

What is the difference between fiber SFP and copper SFP?

The typical power consumption of fiber SFP is 0.8W, the copper SFP is 1.05w. So copper SFP usually runs much hotter than the fiber SFP. Generally, the fiber SFP runs at 40°C (104°F) while the copper SFP should run around 52°C (126°F) in the same environment.

What is the difference between SFP and transceiver?

An SFP, or small form factor pluggable, is a compact, hot-swappable transceiver designed to support 100/1000Mbps Ethernet, Fibre Channel and SONET, among other communication standards. SFP transceivers support speeds up to 4.25Gbps and are commonly used in telecommunications and data communications applications.

Can an SFP interface connect both copper and fiber cables?

Does an SFP port use a copper or fiber optic cable? SFP ports can accommodate both copper and fiber optic cable connections. The use of a copper or fiber optic cable depends on the data transfer capabilities of the SFP transceiver.

Can SFP be copper?

The copper SFP module have four types: 100Base SFP, 1000 Base SFP, 10/100/1000 SFP and 10G SFP+. The following are the descriptions of the copper SFP modules of the three different application types. The 100Base copper SFP module can be used when the device network port is insufficient.

What is the maximum length of copper SFP?

about 33 feet

DAC Cable Max Length? SFP+ DAC can only provide a maximum distance of 10 meters (about 33 feet)based on active copper cables. If the distance is not a problem, the SFP+ DACs tends to be an optimal option because of lower power consumption and lower latency.
