Cisco GLC-FE-100EX Overview

100BASE-EX SFP (40km). This Cisco GLC-FE-100EX compatible SFP transceiver provides 100Base-LH throughput up to 40km over single-mode fiber (SMF) at a wavelength of 1310nm using a LC connector. It is guaranteed to be 100% compatible with the equivalent Cisco transceiver. This easy to install, hot swappable transceiver has been programmed, uniquely serialized and data-traffic and application tested to ensure that it will initialize and perform identically. It is built to meet or exceed the specifications of Cisco, as well as to comply with MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) standards to ensure seamless network integration. All of the transceivers are Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant.

To maintain a robust data archive, each part is individually serialized both in its internal EEPROM memory and on its external label. All QAT results and other important information (e.g., manufacture date, compatibility programming) are associated with each Serial Number stored in our cloud-based secure database. QAT consists of visual part inspection as well as verification of all critical parameters and performance of each part. For the GLC-FE-100EX-FL optical output power and wavelength (1310nm) are verified on optical spectrum analyzers. Receiver sensitivity is verified at both minimum distance and the 40km maximum range over actual (not simulated) SMF , singlemode fiber cable. In addition, the part is verified for proper operation across its full operating temperature range, 0C to 50C.

A:Of course, you can use it to achieve.

Q:The datasheet of our switch shows 1300nm, but the tech data of this module mentions 1310 nm, are they compatible?

A:I think you can use, but you need to make sure that the wavelengths of the modules connected at both ends are the same. Module wavelength is actually a range value, and wavelength generally does not affect the use of the module in the switch.

Q:Is this 100Mbps module backward compatible with 10Mbps?

A:Yes, it is supported.

Q:Which fiber optical cable should I use with this transceiver?

A:The Simplex OS2 Single Mode fiber patch cable is recommended.

Q:Can this module be used with multi-mode patch cable?

A:No, this is a single-mode module, you need to match the single-mode cable.
